Day 11 of The Lariam Tab took us from Sherburn in Elmet onto the open fields steeped in history.

From there, the route wound through South Milford, Monk Fryston, Hillam, and Birkin, crossing the River Aire at Beal, before heading over the Aire & Calder Navigation and the M62.

The landscape then flattened out, revealing echoes of past industry, before giving way to the charm of Cridling Stubbs, Womersley, Kirk Smeaton, and Little Smeaton.

The day began with an unforgettable moment, the unmistakable roar of an RAF Spitfire rolling overhead.
Whether by design or fate, its victory roll felt like a salute, lifting spirits and giving us a powerful boost of morale.

Later, we stopped at the Anne Arms (annearms.co.uk)a fantastic place for a quick bite and a drink. The kindness we received there was humbling: the pub generously donated ÂŁ50 to the JustGiving fund for the National Memorial Arboretum, and a customer quietly added another ÂŁ20 in cash. Acts like these show how deeply this cause resonates, and how far the impact of military suicide reaches into communities.
Today, we walked in special remembrance of veterans from this region and beyond:
✨ Danny Butcher – Army Reservist, Doncaster

✨ Damon Hakin – 25, Doncaster

✨ Kevin Holt – 2 RIFLES, from Thorne, South Yorkshire

✨ Andrew “Bomber” Ross – CHESH, Doncaster

✨ James Byrne – 1 Royal Regiment of Fusiliers

✨ Tony Sutcliffe – Royal Marines

Their names are etched into our purpose. Their stories remind us why #TheLariamTab must continue, until silence is broken and their true battles are recognised.
